Water-Stewardship Mentoring Program |
William Floyd Community Summit received a grant through the Brookhaven National Lab. This grant covered the costs for the second annual Island Launching project. On May 20th, 2009 students from both of the William Floyd Middle Schools participated in this program. This year, students installed two Bio-Haven Floating Islands into the West Mill Pond. Our young environmentalists launched a 60 sq ft. island and a 25 sq ft island. Their efforts helped to bring awareness to the community as well as actively helped to save the Forge River! |
